Acer laptop power cord ?

I have a acer laptop , and i had it for about a year . now when i plug the charger in , the charger turns green but it doesnt go into the laptop. So my laptop is dead and it doest charge anymore unless i fiddle around with it ALOT . and it gets me fustrated . i neee help . What do i do ?
